How to Write a Press Release (+ Free Template) by Rebecca Liew

Press releases are old school. But they can still work if done well. Unfortunately, most people make plenty of mistakes when it comes to crafting a good press release. In turn, these press releases get ignored by their intended recipients: journalists.

Don’t worry, though—Rebecca’s got your back. Read the post to learn how to craft a good press release in 14 steps:
  1. Understand the AP Style guidelines
  2. Choose your format
  3. Pick a newsworthy angle
  4. Add your release date
  5. Leave filler text for your headline and summary
  6. Write a strong opening paragraph
  7. Body paragraphs
  8. Add relevant quotes
  9. Add images
  10. Craft a compelling headline and summary
  11. Boilerplate
  12. Close your press release
  13. Press contact details
  14. Review your copy

13 Inexpensive Small-Business Marketing Ideas That Actually Work by Si Quan Ong

Marketing campaigns don’t have to be expensive. In fact, some of the best marketing tactics you can implement right now involve getting more out of what you already have.

For example, you have thank-you pages, cart pages, checkout pages, email confirmation pages, and more. You can potentially optimize them by including upsells and cross-sells, collecting emails, asking for reviews, and so on.

Or if your product is bought regularly, then why not offer a subscription or entice your customers to place a larger order with bundles? These are all simple ideas that take advantage of your existing (but underutilized) real estate.

What Is Googlebot & How Does It Work? by Patrick Stox

You probably know Google crawls the web using Googlebot. But do you know everything about it?

For example, how do you verify if the bot crawling your website is really Googlebot? Well, in recent years, Google has made it easier and provided a list of public IPs you can use to verify the requests are from Google. You can compare this to the data in your server logs.

Alternatively, you can also access the “Crawl stats” report in Google Search Console. You can see which Googlebot is crawling what files and when it accessed them.

SEO Case Study (On a Budget): From 0 to 75,000 Visits a Year [Article]

SEO is not a dark art. There are no secrets. It eventually comes down to three things: content, links, and tech.

Ryan Darani transparently shares everything he did (down to the budget) to grow a property site from 0 clicks per day to 300-400 clicks per day on average. Executed by him and two other writers, he published 60 pieces of content, built 100 links, and fixed a whole lot of technical SEO issues on the site.
Till next time. ;)

Cheers,
Si Quan
