Buy List Update: She’s looking a lot better than she did last week. 1 x New Addition to the BUY LIST Today! That’s right, I added on a day where FB is likely to weigh on the markets. Lets see if there’s a good price to scoop it up for! We also have one company reporting earnings today.

Lets Talk Facebook: I hate the company. I always have. And as of last night FB was down 20% on poor earnings & guidance (increased competition as I alluded to a few days ago). But there is an opportunity here. I will be keeping a very close eye on tech dips today. Not the high flying overpriced companies like FB. But the kind of underpriced tech you have become accustomed to on the BUY LIST or past companies removed to the StockTips Record. Indeed thank you “metaverse” for making the semiconductor sector even more bullish than before.

Yesterday: Very few insider buys & very few instances of unusual options activity (See on the excel image above). What’s going on here? Indeed this is very rare! Of course yesterdays ADP Employment change didn’t look good while GOOG earnings knocked it out of the park. Looks like the market has hit max confusion.

Today: President Biden goes to New York to talk gun violence today. This certainly bodes well for outdoor sporting goods (guns & ammo) as folks in the media take up their normal commentary (Being honest here). Regardless of politics, history has shown that there is no better advertising for guns & ammo than Democrats addressing gun violence. Much like an anti smoking ad reminds smokers that they want to light up.

Also the America Competes Act is on deck! This will certainly help the semiconductor industry if it passes. I’m hoping it doesn’t pass as a result of congress stuffing the bill with unrelated provisions only to be passed later. This could give us a dip buying opportunity in the semiconductor industry followed by a solid pump.

On the Economic Calendar: On the economic calendar today we have initial jobless claims & some more PMI. We also have MoM factory orders, labor productivity, & unit labor costs. All of these reports in aggregate are great indicator’s of inflation! So pay attention to it while the wider retail space in the market remain ignorant. All of the release times for this data is on the economic calendar above. A simple google search will get you the results. Of course, inflation will be reported Thursday of next week. Expect markets to posture before hand.

Headwinds Ahead: I have a responsibility to warn my subscribers that bullish companies are going to be increasingly hard to find in this environment. I therefore owe it to you to scrutinize my picks more than ever as a result of REAL headwinds. The quick turnarounds we were accustomed to in the past are simply not going to happen in this economy. A swing that may take a month or two last year may take a quarter or two this year. Therefore I think it prudent to buy in slow & only average down when it hurts. Most companies remain profitable, but an adjustment in long term valuations & expectations are necessary. I will trade accordingly.
