How to Use Advertising to Promote Your Blog

I'm sure you've heard the saying "you gotta spend money to make money". Yet as bloggers we generally try to do things on a shoe-strong budget (at least I know I do). When you start from nothing, as most bloggers do, and then have to pay out every month for blog hosting, email, internet... (the list goes on), it can get expensive.

So you try to save money where and when you can - by doing it 'on the cheap' or DIY blogging. However, this can be trap sometimes (I know I've fallen into) where you trade your own time trying to figure something out and do it yourself rather than buy a ready-made product or pay someone who knows what they're doing to provide you with a service.

The result is often a poorer outcome that takes you a lot longer than expected.

Today's blog post is an example of trading money for time - paying to boost your blog through advertising and thereby fast-tracking the growth of your readership.

One of the wonderful things about the space we’re operating in at the moment is that you don’t need hundreds of thousands of dollars to promote your product or service (or blog) these days via advertising. If I were starting out today as a blogger and wanted to gather or expand an audience I’d consider experimenting with a number of different advertising campaigns.
