CXL - Weeks where decades happen
I have 4 updates for you this week. 1. On my mind "There are decades where nothing happens, and there are weeks where decades happen."
Posting about marketing just doesn't seem important right now.
We're horrified about the situation in Ukraine. It's easy to feel helpless watching the aggression. We can't help everyone, but maybe we can make a difference to someone.
Here's how CXL is trying to chip in:
We stopped charging Ukrainian accounts for money. They have bigger problems right now.
We're donating to Ukraine, and encouraging people to do the same: we're extending CXL subscriptions double their donation amount. E.g. you donate $100, you get $200 in CXL credits. This applies to both old and new customers.
Hoping for a fast end to this nightmare. Слава Україні! 2. The complete guide to product marketing and beyond In 2015, chiefmartec.com reported a “staggering” 1,876 SaaS vendors. In 2020, there were over 8,000. That’s some serious growth.
Drift’s CEO, Dave Cancel, says there are three phases to every industry:
SaaS is in the final phase. It’s now winner-take-all.
Product marketing gives you the edge to compete in this hyper-crowded market—and win. It helps you pinpoint the unique positioning and messaging that builds an emotional moat around your brand.
In this article, you’ll learn how to design an effective product marketing strategy that propels your brand to that top 1%.
3. CXL job board Some great new job offers on CXL’s Job Board this week. There’s more here. If you want top brands to reach out to you, sign up for CXL Talent Pool. It's free.
4. Establishing and nurturing a culture of experimentation Edgar Spongoltš, Director of Product at Speero authors the February editions of Briefly Experimental, where he discusses various tips and challenges around establishing and nurturing a culture of experimentation. Read the full newsletter here to learn more about ‘the gaping performance gap’ between companies that are truly data-driven and the ones that are still running on intuition.
