TODAY’S OBSERVATIONS: Moving forward I will be looking for oversold bullish plays & promising short plays. I am in the middle of revamping the newsletter altogether to match the current market conditions. It makes no sense to add long positions in this market ... no matter how bullish they are. However it makes perfect sense to call out short term plays as I see them. And as I can’t very well alert folks to short plays as they hit my desired targets intraday (short plays are NOT positions you want to hold for weeks on end), the best I can do is what you see in the templates in the the Paid Subscriber Section Below. Oh they’re detailed, but please note that they aren’t absolute. If you decide to follow the idea, I highly recommend you leg in slowly.

TWO SHORT PLAYS ADDED: I’ve got two short plays for the paid subscribers below. There will be more. Remember the rules for shorting stocks. Because of the nature of these markets, & an almost guaranteed bearish outlook, I am retiring the buy list until we have more agreeable market conditions. Anyone who thinks its a good idea to go long in this market either means to go very long term or is looking for a relief rally. That’s just not my trading style. Sure, I am happy to find short term bullish plays & short opportunities, but if you just want to throw money into a company & sit on it for years, it’s just not what I do. I aim to use the ebbs & flows of the market to make a profit that the market otherwise cannot deliver. So far so good, as this newsletter has easily beat the market. Let’s see if we can’t find a way to continue the trend.

IMPORTANT: Remember we have a new earnings season fast approaching that will fully reflect the true effects of the war in Ukraine & China lockdowns. Seems like old news right? It is … but this upcoming earnings season includes the fallout of both these items all the same! Earnings always reflect the previous quarter, not the current one. It’s easy to forget the past isn’t it?

GENERAL MARKET OUTLOOK: Between all the stimulus (much of it unnecessary) & the Feds low interest rate policies over the past two years, there’s going to be hell to pay in the equity markets as economic conditions realign. If you would like to see a snapshot of the market, I suggest you read yesterday’s writeup. I’ll try to do these once a quarter.

UPCOMING MARKET MOVING NEWS: FOMC Minutes (The transcript from the previous Fed Rate Hike) will be released tomorrow at 2:00 PM. There’s also plenty of employment data coming out this week. We want to see the job market weakening! It’s the only way inflation is going to get under control folks. So don’t expect the markets to rally on strong jobs numbers. Friday we have Wholesale Inventories. It would be marked in red if only the data was more recent (The numbers are for May). Analyst consensus on Wholesale Inventories are a 2% increase MoM for May. You don’t want to see it come in higher than that … it means businesses are having a hard time moving product.

WORLD MARKETS:
