So Gitlab is the latest SaaS and Cloud leader to do what seems almost impossible.  To grow even faster as it scales.

At $250m in ARR, it was growing a stunning 69%.  Fast forward to today, at $400m in ARR, it’s now growing even faster, at 75% year-over-year.

Wow.  Just Wow.

FUNDRAISING

These days, if you raise money at a >=$80m-100m valuation, and are oversubscribed, most bigger Silicon Valley VC firms will offer to provide some founder liquidity.  Not as much or as often as in the go-go days of 2021, but still, somewhat common if you get to that stage and are reasonably “hot”.

It’s not out of the goodness of their hearts. It’s so they can buy more. Bigger funds want to own as much as they can, and if they can get another 2%-3% more than otherwise, secondary liquidity is a way to get it.
