Per Pitchbook data, companies based in Silicon Valley grabbed nearly 30% of all US funding, more than doubling runner-up NYC. On a global scale, several US metros outpaced countries like India ($2.8B in Q3'22 funding), Japan ($1.2B), and all of LatAm ($1.1B).

•  😨 Anxiety is simmering on Wall Street - Dealmaking was stymied by market volatility, recession fears and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, with investment-banking revenue plummeting 43% across the five biggest US banks in the first six months from a year earlier. According to interviews with 10 young bankers, they’re enjoying the boats and the bars, but with lackluster work, plummeting global dealmaking the prospect of shrinking bonuses and layoffs are bringing them down.
