Which counties are delaying the certification of midterm election results?

Source: Arizona.Vote

  1. Summary
Cochise County, Arizona has voted to delay the certification of its election results until well after a Monday deadline. The County's board claims it wants time to investigate voting machine security and to hear testimony by experts from the Arizona Secretary of State's office. The decision to delay certification already faces legal challenges.

The vote comes as Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake has refused to concede to Democrat Katie Hobbs, who is currently Arizona's secretary of state. In Arizona's largest county, Maricopa, protestors have demanded local officials not certify the vote. The county's Republican-dominated board chose to certify the election unanimously.

Luzerne County, PA, voted to delay certification following a shortage of paper ballots at polling stations. However, a local official indicated results may be certified soon. In Michigan, the state election board unanimously voted to certify election results despite challenges. Prior to 2022, counties routinely voted to certify their election results without incident.

Should the US increase oil imports from Venezuela?

245 votes, 27 comments

Context: U.S. eases sanctions on Venezuela amid country's apparent progress on free elections.

HIGHLIGHTED COMMENTS

No - Our goal should be to become less reliant on energy imports from hostile dictatorships, not more. If we expand our nuclear capacity, continue to build out renewables, and make responsible use of our fossil fuel resources, we can meet our power needs without having to rely on the whims (and support the atrocities) of autocrats.
