Going viral isn't about luck. It's about iteration

A former boss of mine used to say, “If you try different things, different things happen.”

TikTok creator Ryan Magin is a good example of this.

Ryan posted the same video five times in a row. And it was only on the 5th time that it went viral 👇

These are the changes made on the version that worked:

• He changed the caption/hook
• He spoke faster for the first 1-3 seconds
• He used a different picture as thumbnail

This teaches us that there’s more than one reason why a piece of content might not work.

Whenever you feel a piece of content should have gotten more views, don’t be afraid to experiment.

Make tiny changes like a tweaked hook or title.

It could be the difference between an irrelevant post and a viral one.

New site for 2023? Steal these ideas

Keeping your personal website up-to-date is a great idea at the start of the new year.

There is a problem, though. It is challenging to come up with ideas and inspiration for it.

How to sell more ads with one simple sentence

Running ads in your newsletter is the fastest way to turn it into an income stream.

Classified ads are one of the most common types of ads.

These often contain a simple sentence with a link to click on it, and are at the bottom of the newsletter (check The Stash below for examples).

One day while scrolling through Twitter I found a tweet where Abhishek Shah and Jason Levin discuss about tactic that has helped Abhishek secure a ton of sponsors for his newsletter.

According to Abhishek, adding just a small sentence at the end of the classified ad section increased conversions.

He says he took inspiration from Marketing Max.

Then, later this week I received Marketing Max’s newsletter and I noticed exactly what they were saying:

This tiny sentence apparently has a huge impact on converting readers into buyers.

The reason it works is that the potential buyer can see exactly what their ad would get them.

By adding a buy button next to it, you are facilitating the purchase.
