Why is the U.S. Virgin Islands suing JP Morgan Chase?
Please click Display images in your email app to view this email properly

Source: Associated Press

  1. Summary
In a lawsuit filed against JP Morgan Chase, the attorney general of the US Virgin Islands alleges that the financial giant illegally profited from the sex trafficking activities of Jeffrey Epstein on his Little St. James island. Epstein, who died by apparent suicide in 2019 before going to trial, allegedly trafficked dozens of underage girls for years.

"JP Morgan facilitated and concealed [transactions] that raised suspicion of — and were in fact part of — a criminal enterprise [...] Human trafficking was the principal business of the accounts Epstein maintained at JP Morgan," the lawsuit says. The complaint says federal money laundering laws should have led the bank to uncover the transactions, and that JP Morgan turned a blind eye because Epstein brought profitable clientele.

The suit noted that JP Morgan continued to provide services to Epstein long after he had first registered as a sex offender in 2008. Last month, two anonymous women who allege they were trafficked by Epstein also sued JP Morgan Chase and Germany's Deutsche Bank.

Should people be allowed to buy gun assembly kits without a background check?

HIGHLIGHTED COMMENTS

No - I’m ok with any law-abiding person buying a gun as long as it’s legal and you can pass a background check. That’s not a hard task, I own multiple guns and live in a very restrictive state. [...] It may be a right to bear arms, but if you are a criminal or have criminal intent you should lose that right!
