  1. Summary
It was revealed Monday that classified documents were kept at President Biden's think tank in Washington, DC. The documents were kept when Biden was a private citizen, after he was vice president. The revelation drew immediate comparisons to the classified records kept at former President Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence, which drew an FBI raid.

Biden's attorneys said there was only a small number of documents at the think tank, which they said Biden rarely used. His lawyers also say they immediately notified the National Archives upon discovering the documents in November 2022. They also noted that the documents were not previously sought by the National Archives. In contrast, Mar-a-Lago held hundreds of records that had been sought by the National Archives.

Some of the documents, which date from 2013 to 2016, reportedly concern intelligence briefings on Iran, Ukraine, and the UK. Retired Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz questioned why the disclosure was made now, rather than when the documents were discovered (right before midterms).

Is social media the main cause of the apparent increase in youth mental health problems?

479 votes, 77 comments

Context: Seattle Public Schools sue major social media platforms for allegedly creating a mental health crisis.

HIGHLIGHTED COMMENTS

Yes - And the evidence of this has been around for a long time, even outside of the context range. Back when MySpace was a thing these problems were showing and we were finding people replacing in-person friends with social media friends but achieving only a growing sense of isolation and loneliness. [...] Now we have a generation of people that have lived their whole life like this. Although social media is the major cause, should the social media companies be held libel for this outcome? I think the onus for that is primarily on parents and schools.
