  1. Summary
Six people, including three children, were killed in a mass shooting at The Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee on Monday. The 28-year-old shooter was killed by police. He carried detailed maps of the school and at least two assault rifles and a handgun. Covenant is a private Christian school with about 210 students ranging from preschool to the sixth grade.

The shooter, a transgender man who was first identified by police as a woman, is believed to have been a former student at the school. Police said it is not clear when the shooter may have attended Covenant. They also said he acted alone and had no criminal history.

Police searching the shooter's home said they found a manifesto and a plan for the shooting. Police found that his plan mentioned another Nashville school, but the suspect concluded it had too much security to be a target. Two of the three guns carried to the school were obtained locally. Police believe the suspect entered the school by shooting through a door.

Should social media companies have to let parents see minors' account interactions?

Context: Utah passes social media regulations that will allow parents to see their kids' account interactions.

HIGHLIGHTED COMMENTS

Yes - A parent is responsible for the actions of minors and is responsible for the interactions of minors. Sometimes minors need to be guided and helped along the way. As my kids were growing, my wife and I would do audits of their social media. (At the time, Facebook was the big thing). We would download all of their Facebook histories, then review it with them. It opened up some great conversations with our kids.
