And I was like, YES, sounds good.

So I hopped in his minivan.

20 minutes later, we still hadn't set off.

The driver was chatting to other drivers,

Taking phone calls,

Having a snack.

Having a cigarette.

Scrolling though his phone.

An American tourist got a little impatient while waiting in the hot van.

He said, "Mate, are you working, or just chilling out?"

The Bahamian driver, without batting an eyelid said:

"I'm chilling out but I'm working at the same time".

And since then, "chilling out but working at the same time" has been my motto.

In fact, most of the time, when I'm chilling out,

I'm working at the same time.

When I'm lying on the sofa, I'm watching YouTube to learn skills for my business.

When I'm driving in the car, I'm listening to podcasts to learn what's working for others.

When I'm in the bath, I'm interacting with people on Twitter.

When I'm shopping, I'm taking photos of products for my websites.

When I'm travelling, I'm making videos for YouTube and social media.

The great thing is, it doesn't feel like work!

Today, I'm at the beach.

Chilling out... definitely!

Working at the same time... yes - since I have a travel blog

This email was scheduled, I don't take my laptop to the beach.

In fact, I haven't even brought it on this trip.

And I do completely switch off sometimes.

Like when I'm with the kids.

But, I do get a LOT done by 'chilling out and working at the same time'.

Without it, I wouldn't be anywhere near where I am today.

In fact, I wouldn't be at the beach at all

I'd be in an office,

Waiting until my annual leave reset next year because I'd have used it all up by now!

So really, the more I work,

The more I can chill out. 

But doing them both at the same time is the key.
