Influencers vs. Users: What Gets People Buying? 👀
We’re in an age of influencer marketing, but the data also tells us that user-generated content much more significantly influences consumer behavior.

Here are some illuminating results from a survey by EnTribe:

β†’ 81% of consumers say a brand’s use of influencers has either no impact or a negative impact on their perception of a brand (51% of whom say they scroll right past influencer posts)
β†’ 90% would prefer to see brands share content from actual customers
β†’ 86% are more likely to trust a brand that publishes user-generated content as opposed to influencers
β†’ 62% have never purchased a product promoted by an influencer, 90% have purchased a product after being influenced by friends or family
β†’ 82% would be more inclined to purchase their products or services if brands incorporated user-generated content into marketing initiatives, 12% would be inclined to purchase a product if promoted by an influencer

Now, obviously, there’s a difference between what consumers say and what they do. But still.

β†’ Currently unconfirmed, but SEORoundtable reported on a potential Google Search Algorithm Ranking Update on June 6. It got even more volatile on June 7.
