    Philadelphia prosecutors on Wednesday revealed new details about the man detained for fatally shooting five people on July 3. The 40-year-old suspect was arraigned on Wednesday, and is accused of first killing a man inside a house before opening fire randomly at passerby on the street.

    A roommate told investigators the gunman was agitated in the days before the shooting, and had started wearing a bulletproof vest at home. The gunman had pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of carrying a firearm without a license in 2005. He had posted photos online of himself in women's clothing, but refers to himself as a male.

    City officials said the AR-15 rifle and handgun carried by the shooter appear to be "ghost guns," or guns self-assembled from gun kits, which are difficult to trace. The city separately filed a lawsuit Wednesday against several gun kit manufacturers. The lawsuit was planned before Monday's shooting, with the city saying the number of ghost guns recovered in police investigations has increased 300% in four years.
