  1. Summary
Tropical Storm Hilary made landfall in Mexico on Sunday evening. As it moved north, it became the first tropical storm to cross into California from Mexico since 1997. Had it first made landfall in California from the sea, it would have been the first tropical storm to do so since 1939. No deaths have been reported in the US as of Sunday night.

Various cities in Southern California saw 84mph winds late Sunday, mudslides on highways, and overwhelmed drainage systems. Some parts of the region saw more than half a year's worth of rain. Dozens of cars were submerged in Palm Springs and the surrounding desert communities of the Coachella Valley, which is particularly vulnerable to flooding. Over 250 flights were canceled in San Diego.

While it is rare for tropical storms to hit California with full force, environmental researcher Nicholas Grondin says that the American Southwest is known to regularly experience the remnants of tropical cyclones. Hilary is forecasted to travel farther North than usual.

Do Trump's public comments physically threaten his courtroom proceedings?

Context: Threat made to judge in federal case against Trump, personal details of Georgia grand jurors circulate online.

HIGHLIGHTED COMMENTS

Yes - There is a part of me that wants to say no, and the words do not dictate actions. However, we’ve seen in the past how certain extreme factions of those who believe in and follow former-President Trump will go to extreme, and often scary, lengths if they think he is telling them to. The former president has either never understood the gravity of his words' effect on this group, or has used it to his advantage in a manipulative way. Either way, they threaten the proceedings as it could add additional stress to the jury and judge.

No - His comments don't help. But from what I can see they don't direct anyone to target officials or jurors. And in...
