Nano Thought

We had some good news for Macro markets this week...which means good news for us as well as the micro or "nano" markets ;)

My takeaway is a couple of different things

1. Inflation is finally coming down, and the Fed thinks they may have it under control
2. Debt is not going to get any more expensive
3. Some assets will still be undervalued until next year when the Fed starts cutting rates again, and everyone starts borrowing and buying

One thing that has become VERY clear to me is that the macro environment very much has an effect on the micro.

The higher the interest rates, the less the spending and investing, the fewer buyers, the less competition.

This means there is an opportunity as a buyer today that will disappear when the Fed cuts rates next year.

The next 6 months may give us all a window to purchase cash flow positive businesses at a discount to what they will be worth next year.

Baron Rothschild, a British banker and politician from the wealthy international Rothschild family, once said that the best time to buy is “when there is blood in the streets.” In simple words, when there are fewer buyers, it's a great time to purchase.

Google Updates Y'all

If you are in the SEO world, you probably have heard about Google's most recent Core update. The HCU or "Helpful Content Update"

Latest Core Update Highlights - April 2023

• The update lasted for 13 days and 2 hours.
• We're in the early stages, so the full impact is still unfolding.

What We Know So Far:

• 🌎 It's a global update affecting all regions and languages.
• 🌟 The aim is to recognize and reward top-notch web pages.
• 📅 Though Google shared the news on August 22nd, some experts spotted changes nearly a week earlier. (One of our sites is up 40% in traffic)

For SEO Experts:

• 📉 Reports indicate some websites saw traffic dips 5-7 days before the official announcement.
• 🧐 Stay vigilant with your SERP rankings and analytics as the update unfolds.

A Note from Google:

• 📉 A dip in your site's performance? Don't panic! It might be the update adjusting things, not your site's content or structure.
• 🚀 If rankings fall, prioritize improving your site's overall quality before diving into technical fixes.
• 🔍 Stay updated by checking the Google Search Status Dashboard.

Remember, updates mean growth. If one site loses traffic, it means another site has replaced it in the search engine results!

• SEO Insights: Approximately 79% of ranking keywords are geared towards informational intent, as per SEMRUSH insights. For buyers, this means there's solid groundwork to build upon or refine the existing content.
• Monetization: Currently, the site earns from Adsense. But guess what? There's room for diversification! Potential buyers can seamlessly integrate affiliate links within the pre-existing content.
• Traffic Trends: Heads up: The top 10 keywords experienced a dip after a notable upward trajectory, as revealed by Ahrefs data. Similarly, recent traffic has seen a slight downturn.

Ways to improve it for a flip

• Change the ad network! A quick switch to Ezoic could bump revenue by 50% alone!
• Create a directory and sell ad space to law firms! This could easily bring in an extra $1-2k a month with some cold outreach
• Go after more low-hanging fruit in terms of keywords for SEO - there are a ton
• Try using affiliate programs or selling leads to lawyers

I think with some concerted effort It could be possible to add $2k a month in profit to this site a month which would be $70K+ in value!​
