95% of CTAs are wrong [epic Wistia analysis]

Wistia analyzed over 3.6 million customizations of Wistia-hosted videos — including 481,514 Calls to Action (CTA) from 324,015 videos. Here are the tastiest insights I liked:

1. 95.9% are placing their CTA at the end of the video.
Meanwhile the mid-roll CTAs generate the highest conversion rate: 16.95%
The post-roll: 10.98%
The pre-roll: 3.15%

2. Image vs Text CTAs:
+ Image: 13.08%
+ Text: 10.65%

3. Videos with CTA that included the word:
+ "Free" converted 12.22%
+ "You": 9.6%
+ "Signup": 19.5%

4. Dimensions of CTA images - (960x540 - is the default size for Wistia videos).
+ 640x360: 13.7%
+ 960x540 (full sized): 12.9%
+ 480x270: 3%
