#1 - Don't buy "now". Buy "today"

Copywriting pro Ben Settle says we should try to avoid the word now for our call to action copy.

The reason?

People have a hard time grasping what now means.

Instead, use a more specific time like “today”.

This is one of those tweaks that feel small but that likely has big results.

I’m a big “now” user so I’ll definitely steal this one!

#2 - $117,000 in pre-sales with the "Price Hike"

Steph Smith Racked up over $100k in pre-sales for her new product.

The catalyst is one simple tactic: The Price Hike.

Here’s how it works:

• Price started at $30,
• Price hike of $20 for every 20 sales
• Price currently at $350

For a total of 700 sales! (and climbing)

What I love about it is the baked-in scarcity and the FOMO it generates.

Most people would think twice before dropping $300+ on a product.

But this pricing strategy makes it feels like you need to get it now or else you'll miss a huge opportunity.

#3 - How to get newsletter sponsors with cold reach out

I’ll be honest, I’ve never done cold reach out to fill this newsletter’s ad slots.

As a result, I only booked 60-70% of the slots in 2023.

But Justin Moore (the sponsorship OG) changed my view around it.

What he proposes is simple:

→ Target brands that are already sponsoring newsletters

Find a contact (LinkedIn is super useful for that) and send this email:

Obviously, you need to tailor it to your own communication style, but you get the point.

Simple, short.

Your only goal is to open the conversation. Then you can get to the specifics.

I’m definitely trying this. I’ll keep you posted on the results.
