Optimizely changed the “contact sales” button on their pricing page to read “schedule demo”. Result: +300%

In the beginning, the Optimizely team did 1 on 1 interviews and ran focus groups. During one of the interviews a guy looked at a copy of their old pricing page and says, angrily, “I hate this. Every time I see 'contact sales’ I think I’m going to get taken for a ride, and so I’ll never click this button.”

They decided to run an A/B test - What if they changed the “contact sales” button on their pricing page to read “schedule demo”?

Result:
They observed a greater than 300% improvement in conversions (people who scheduled demos with their sales team) from this simple change in language.
