Inside Intercom - Connections are a feature, not a bug

One of the abiding lessons of this turbulent time will surely be how incredibly interconnected we all are. But despite our current sense of vulnerability, that interconnectedness is a feature, not a bug – it’s a direct result of our need for relationships and bonds with others. 

Helping people and businesses connect is what we’ve been doing since the very beginning of Intercom, but we also believe that weaving better interconnections between businesses helps everyone succeed.

That’s why we launched the Intercom App Store in 2018, with more than 240 apps now working on the Intercom platform, and it’s why last week we launched the App Partner Program and the Service Partner Program – a new framework for working with other companies to provide solutions to our mutual customers. As Senior Product Marketing Manager Ashley Hanson explains, “Our new programs are designed to help all of us partner even more closely, so that together we can help businesses build better and more personal relationships with customers.”

We know that being a true platform is about more than providing a range of APIs – it’s about building resilience and value through mutually beneficial relationships. It might seem easier to go it alone and plow your own furrow, but prosperity comes through collaboration.
