Sofie Hagen - Not a lot of time left.

I tweeted something about a celebrity who had done a bad thing and now I fear that journalists will
Sofie (Sits Down With A Cup of Hot Chocolate and) Writes A Letter
It's the middle of August, so let's have a chat.

Here's the deal: I ramble a bit and after the rambling, I have my exciting announcements. Scroll down if you hate rambling.

I am going to try to make this short, because I am still in bed (lol, it's 3pm) as I am writing this and one should not be over 30 years old and sit up in bed to do work - it is bad for your back and neck and oh GOD, I'm old. I don't feel old. Well, I do when I check TikTok. I did a video on there where I tried to attract an older audience by doing a boring video. Some kid commented, 'This must mean I'm 30 :(' and another kid commented and said, 'me too. yikes.'

Excuse me! Yikes? Yikes?! Just these kids wait till they start sneezing with sound and considering their physiotherapist one of their closest friends. Just they wait till they bulk-buy whatever is on sale because you can't miss out on a good bargain. Just wait till they ask a mortgage advisor if it will ever be likely that you will own a place to live and hear them laugh.

Anyways, how are you? Have you taken your meds today? And your vitamins? Good. Now fill a glass with water, just in case you want it.

I have always been quite open about my mental difficulties. My first show was about being a depressed teenager who was admitted to the psychiatric hospital. My second show was about anxiety and my third about psychological abuse. I've always talked quite openly about therapy. In fact, on the 17th of September, I will be doing a whole online show about it, you should watch.

Recently, I've started talking even more about it. I've gone into details about my very particular type of therapy and issue. Extreme CPTSD. On Instagram, I have saved all the stories in a highlight. I recommend you go read it, if you're into that sort of thing.

There is also a highlight of bits in my teenage diary that I found recently. It's cringey and horrible and quite amusing. You could go see that too.

Okay, my neck is killing me and I have to go and watch Murder, She Wrote, I guess. Now where are my toffees?

Let's go over the two main things you need to know!

C A R E   P A C K A G E S!

I have care packages on sale again! The cheapest version is £25+postage which includes my book 'Happy Fat' (signed!) and some stickers with my face on them. And you can add stuff like extra stickers, stand-up shows and handwritten notes. I ship internationally, but of course, if it's far away from the UK, it will take its time. But there are people in both the US, South Africa and Australia who have tagged me in photos where they've received it - so it should arrive just fine eventually.

I am sending out all parcels that I receive today on Tuesday. So if you're in the UK, you'll probably receive them before Friday. That is so soon!

They will continue to be on sale till they sell out - but if you buy them tomorrow or later, they might not be shipped out for a couple of weeks. It's cheaper to send, the more I send at a time - that's why.

Also my flat is a mess because there's cardboard, mailing bags, books, envelopes, address label stickers and order slips everywhere. And I only own one table. I have to eat dinner in bed these days so I don't get bolognese all over your thank-you-cards.

T H U R S D A Y,   I T   I S   S H O W T I M E !

On Thursday, I am doing this month's live online show and I am so super excited. This time I will be talking about fatness and health. A big, explosive topic and I can't wait to make it funny and entertaining but also get to busting some of those myths that everyone seems to believe. Tickets are £7 but, just for you newsletter-legends, I am giving 30% off to the first 100 people using the voucher code. The code is fucklandlords

Also, pay attention to the instructions on the website - you will not receive an email or a link. Your log-in is your access key. At 8.45pm on Thursday (uk time) you just go to sofiehagen.com/onlineshow and log in and refresh the page. A few people have said it didn't work with their browser, so try changing browsers, if something doesn't work. If it completely doesn't work, then contact inPlayer. Their information is on the website too.

I have tried to ask them to send out confirmation emails, but they charge £250 for that, which I'm just like... Hmmmmmmmmm... But, if it turns out to be a problem for you, I will have them do it. As of now, the instructions are hopefully super clear on the website.

I can't wait to spend another hour or so with you on Thursday. I'm excited.

That was the immediate stuff!

Now, let's play a fun party game called 'Support Sofie's Career In These Unprecedented Times'. Here is all the stuff I am otherwise upto:

 New Podcast
Third episode of our new podcast 'Bad People' is out. It's a true crime podcast with me and Dr. Julia Shaw who is a criminal psychologist where we explore 'evil' people. Or well, we discuss whether or not anyone is evil. We realise quite early on that I (comedian) enourmously disagree with Julia (professional psychologist) about the very basics of true crime. I believe that 100% of people who commit terrible crimes on purpose have got some kind of trauma in their past. Julia does not think so. This becomes a (I think) very interested through-line in the series. I hope you like it. It's quite dark, so you'd have to be into that sort of thing.

 New Recording For Sale
A 45 minute funny/amusing comedy talk about how to love your fat body is up now for sale, for just £5. It is a edited-down version of the online show I did in June - the first one. You can now own it yourself and watch it as much and whenever you want.

New Online Show Tickets For Sale
On September 17th, I am doing another show. This time, we are moving away from fatness and into therapy and mental health. Not to brag, but I'm fairly mentally ill. OCD, anxiety, CPTSD, depression, eating disorders, you name it. Traumatic childhood, psychiatric hospitals, ten different therapists over the course of 15 years. So whilst I am definitely NOT a therapist, I can definitely talk about the whole thing from a personal point of view. In a completely non-taboo way. I have learned little tricks from various therapists and I would like to think I also know how to make sure you find a good one. That's a big promise, so don't hold me to it. Either way, I'm very excited to talk about this. I really hope you'll watch.

That's it for now - here are some fun reminders of more fun stuff I do:

 Reminder: I am on Cameo!

Cameo is this website where you can buy a personalised video message for yourself or a friend or family member. Or enemy - whatever you want. So far I've been booked to do peptalks, especially body positive or feminist pep talks, birthday greetings, anniversary messages - it's a lot of fun. I ramble a lot and the videos end up being much longer than the other people on Cameo (I've noticed).

So if you'd like to book a personalised message, book it here

ALSO: I'm still selling my stand-up shows!

I am selling my two shows 'Dead Baby Frog' and 'Shimmer Shatter' on this link - they're £5 minimum, but if you're broke, you can use the code 'eattherich' to get 50% off. Now, if you are rich, you can also choose to give more than £5. You can give, say, £2000 per show. That'd be nice. Thank you, rich person.

Also a reminder: I'm on Patreon!

Some of you have asked me if I considered making a Patreon account for me - in general - instead of it being just for Made of Human Podcast. And no, I'd feel weird not having an actual "product" to give back to you. But what I will say is - the minimum amount to give per episode on my Patreon is one dollar. My podcast is weekly, meaning, at the most, there will be five episodes in a month (max!). That's five dollars. That's around £4 a month. And at the moment, it wouldn't just go towards the podcast - it would go towards me and all of my work. And I continue to be in awe of you all and your kindness and willingness to support. So here is my Patreon if you want to sign up - you will also get access to a bunch of extra special mini-interviews with most of my guests, like, Tim Minchin, Travis Alabanza, Grace Petrie, Ed Gamble, Suzi Ruffel and so on. They're for Patreon-supporters only.

Speaking of Made of Human Podcast - I hope it can bring you entertainment and comfort these days. I'm having some incredibly conversations with amazing people. Go listen here or wherever you listen to podcasts.

I am, as ever, growing more and more fond of the people who follow and support me - I'm very lucky to have the best community of followers ever.

Love you.
Stay safe.

Sofie.
