With no winner yet declared, but both sides showing confidence in their respective victories, the main picture emerging from the election is that of a country divided. Some clear winners emerging from the ballots are Uber and marijuana legalization.

In non-election news, the highly anticipated Ant Group's IPO is suspended and the U.S. has officially exited the Paris Agreement on climate change.

Both candidates addressed their supporters in speeches that saw Donald Trump falsely trying to claim victory, while Joe Biden called for patience and claimed he was “on track” to win.

Biden has now won more electoral college votes than Hillary Clinton did in 2016 and is projected to take Arizona while Trump held Texas and Florida. Democrats look set to retain their majority in the House, but face a difficult path to claiming the Senate.

In a sweeping
victory for drug liberalization, four states approved recreational marijuana use while Oregon voted for the country’s most progressive drug policy. A total of nine states had healthcare measures on the ballot, while in California gig companies like Uber and DoorDash scored a win on Proposition 22

Even among the ultra-rich,
