As interest in gluten-free and low-carb diets has grown, many dog owners are beginning to put their pets on similar eating regimens.

Raw dog food in particular has received praise for its potential health benefits.

But feeding dogs raw meat poses a bacterial risk. Not to mention the problem of inconvenient storage.

Freeze dried dog food helps address these issues while still offering raw ingredients.

What's next:
Freeze dried dog food is part of the “premium pet products'' meta trend. Global pet product spending has grown by 94% since 2011.

Examples of high-end pet products include:

Dog supplements, CBD for dogs, dog cameras, dog probiotics, pet wipes and dog toothpaste.

Premium pet products for cats include PrettyLitter, cat fish oil, cat toothpaste and cat pheromones.

Mesh routers

Mesh routers provide a multi-point system for strong WiFi coverage over a large area.

They come in kits with a main router plus one or more satellite units to repeat the signal throughout the building.

Not only are they better at covering multiple rooms at once compared to traditional routers, many mesh routers can handle more devices as well. (The average U.S. household has 11 internet-connected devices.)

Brands include Google Wifi, Nest Wifi, Eero, Netgear’s Orbi and Samsung’s SmartThings Wifi.

What's next:
Mesh routers are part of the “faster home internet” meta trend.

Mesh routers have been on the rise for years. But as work from home has skyrocketed, so has interest in products that improve home internet access.

The global wireless mesh network market was worth over $2B in 2019 according to Global Market Insights. And is expected to grow at a CAGR of more than 15% through 2026.

Other examples of this trend include mu-mimo, the WiFi 6 protocol and powerline ethernet.

Streamlabs

Streamlabs is a platform for live streaming to multiple platforms simultaneously.

Originally focused on game streamers on Twitch, Streamlabs is now also used for live events and workshops. As well as other platforms like YouTube and Facebook. Which helped the platform grow to over 40M users.

Streamlabs also has features, like a tip jar, designed to help creators monetize their streams.

What's next:
Streamlabs is part of the “video game live streaming” meta trend.

According to Stream Hatchet, viewers spent 8.8 billion hours watching gaming streams in Q1 2021 — an 80% year-over-year increase.

Overall, the video game live streaming market is forecast to grow at a CAGR of 18% through 2030.

Topic #4

Bifacial solar panels

Bifacial solar panels gather energy from sunlight on both the front and back sides of their panels.

Research shows that bifacial panels that move to track the sun produce an average of 35% more energy than conventional panels.

Major global players include LONGi Solar, Sunpreme, Prism Solar and LG Electronics.

What's next:
In the US, almost 100 GWdc of solar is expected to be installed from 2021-2025. That's an increase of 42% compared to the previous five-year period.

According to energy research firm Wood Mackenzie, the bifacial solar market is forecasted to grow even faster: as much as 10x by 2024. As the cost difference between traditional and bifacial panels shrinks, bifacial panels are expected to make up an increasing share of the solar market.
