CXL - Worst product comparison page
I have 6 updates for you this week. 1. On my mind Every product comparison page: If your differentiation is based on a feature comparison grid, you're already playing a game you cannot win.
Using comparison grids like that means odds are very high you're competing on features.
Competing on features is a road to nowhere, it's a race to the bottom that cannot be won.
The problem with "my features are better than yours" is that customers don't find incremental improvement exciting, and it's super easy for your competitors to copy, so you have no true advantage. It's gonna make your life very hard if you wanna be bigger than a niche player.
A smarter path is to take a fundamentally differentiated position in the market.
People absolutely want to know they why choose X over Y, and you should tell them.
However the companies who are trying to win with a few extra checkmarks on a grid compared to the competition, they're screwed in the long run.
