Former Penny Hoarder Content Manager Scales Own Site Using SEO

Have you ever caught yourself writing in the same boring writing style you were taught in school?

Many people do.

After all, for most of us, it's how we learned how to write.

But as we all know, the internet requires a much different writing style. We have to hook readers early and keep them entertained.

This is something our guest on the Niche Pursuits podcast this week has mastered.

And she's here to share how - and a whole lot more!

Her name is Alexis Grant and she started her career in journalism. She then moved on to form a content marketing agency which was later acquired by The Penny Hoarder where she worked as a top executive for many years.

(And as you likely know, The Penny Hoarder went on to be acquired for $102 million dollars!)

She has since left, starting some very successful projects of her own. One a helpful blog for writers (which had an 80% increase in traffic to 460k pageviews a month using the SEO tactics she shares today).

And her latest project, one that will certainly interest many of you.

During the interview she also discusses:

  • The story behind the ‘Penny Hoarder' purchasing her site
  • Growth strategies
  • Headlines and why they're so important
  • Having a specialist publish the articles to WordPress — not the writers
  • Scaling content and strategies used at The Penny Hoarder
  • Creating checklists for the content team
  • Training your team
  • SEO tactics
  • Updating old content
  • Why she left the Penny Hoarder
  • Repurposing, redirecting, and combining content after an audit

This episode includes a ton of helpful tips for writers, SEOs, and online entrepreneurs in general.

Don't miss it.
