[Amazon Updates] Extra Large, Small and Light

Developments

Amazon hit us with two big announcements this week, adding the Extra Large storage type and bumping the Small & Light price threshold up to $10.

Is this good news for sellers?

Amazon Top Movers

We’ve gathered data from April 3rd to April 16th to show you what the 10 trendiest terms are that are causing a stir on Amazon.

Taking the
#4 spot in this week’s top movers list and getting more sales than ever is “Amazon outlet store clearance prime deals”. Amazon's Outlet Store is an Amazon shopping section full of thousands of items that Amazon has labeled overstocked, and they’re all more heavily discounted than you would find on the regular site. It’s open to all, but many shoppers aren't aware of its existence.

In just a few days, the searches and sales of this product have risen like dough, going from selling 1,381 units to 2,120 units.

Eyes Here, Google Analytics Users!

On July 1, 2023, the current Universal Analytics properties will no longer process data. It will be replaced by the more privacy-focused Google Analytics 4 (previously called an App + Web), so you’ll need to migrate to the new property.

This change will have you adding one more thing on your to-do list, but Google has promised that Analytics 4 will have more useful features for ecommerce business owners, including

  • Enhanced integrations with Google’s advertising platforms
  • Automatic alerts to significant data trends
  • Ability to see Google, Youtube, social, and email conversions alongside one another

There will be a period of time when you may still access reports from Universal Analytics after July 1 next year, but if you want to avoid the hassle, you can already migrate to the new Google Analytics 4.

Unsure which version you have? If you created your property before October 14, 2020, then you likely have Universal Analytics. To be sure, however, look at your property ID. If it starts with UA, then you’re using Universal Analytics, and you’ll have to migrate to Google Analytics 4.

In the meantime, if you want tips on boosting your SEO, here’s our guide to styling and formatting online articles.

24/7 Amazon Seller Legal Support

If you’ve tried looking for answers regarding a legal problem related to your Amazon business, you probably came across Rosenbaum Famularo & Segall, P.C. (“Rosenbaum”). It’s the law firm behind AmazonSellersLawyer.com, BrandProtectionAmazon.com, and this Youtube channel.

The firm recently announced its 24/7 live chat service to help assist Amazon sellers with their legal inquiries. This is available to all sellers, whether they decide to retain the firm’s services or not. Just click on the blue “Chat with us Live!” button on the right side of the page.

Greener Amazon

Days after it announced a 5% fuel and inflation surcharge, Amazon revealed its 37 new renewable energy projects, strengthening its commitment to the Climate Pledge.

According to their press release, these projects will increase Amazon’s renewable energy portfolio by almost 30%, with an overall sum of 310 projects across 19 countries, including the United States, Japan, Canada, and India. The energy produced is said to be enough to power 3.9 million US homes annually.
