📈 How Were Sites Impacted by the March 2023 Google Core Update?

The Google core update finished rolling out yesterday morning. Now's the time to take a look at your sites and see how your traffic compares to about 2 weeks ago.

For example, when I compare organic traffic from March 28th (yesterday) to 2 weeks ago (March 14th), my traffic is up almost exactly 20%! It's important to compare the same day of the week (Tuesday to Tuesday in my case).

I took a poll on both Twitter and Facebook to see how sites were impacted.

​Here's the results:

What's fascinating about these results is that almost exactly 50% of sites are up and 50% of sites are down.

This is of course how an update should work. Some sites go up, while others go down.

This appeared to be a pretty big update with some sites seeing wild swings either up or down.

The internet never ceases to amaze me!

Who knew a niche site billed as "An Ode to the Costco Hotdog" could get 60,000 organic visitors a month from Google!

What?!?

I do agree though, the Costco Hotdog is pretty great.
