If these advertisers found a way... you can too.

There was something different about the Big Game last month...

And I’m not talking about Taylor Swift.

I’m talking about coordinated push campaigns.
Did your phone buzz a few times during the game?

It probably did if you have the Etsy or Duolingo app installed.

Both companies doubled down on their advertising by sending push notifications to users’ phones shortly after their commercials aired.

Some people were puzzled by this, like this user on X:

But the tactic seemed to work, at least for this Etsy seller, who posted about the strategy’s impact on Reddit:

With these push notifications, Etsy and Duolingo reached not only the people watching the game but also users who weren’t.

Etsy’s commercial received over 450k views on YouTube.

Duolingo’s ad garnered almost 1 million views.

These companies turned their in-game ads into a multi-channel marketing opportunity. That’s the kind of out-of-the-box thinking that gets you noticed and drives results.

If you’re interested in exploring innovative marketing tactics for your business, reach out to the team at my ad agency. They handle marketing on all digital channels and can find the right combo for you.

Cheers,

Neil
