I have 9 updates for you this week. 1. On my mind “I still remember the day I built my first landing page for a client, back in 2007.
I communicated to the client - ‘I know what I'm doing, this is gonna be great!’. I spilled some knowledge on what makes landing pages work.
On the inside I was also nervous - ‘is this going to work?’.
I had only read about landing pages, and I knew the theory - what all they should include, and what should be left out.
What I had was a recipe: singular focus, no distractions, AIDA copy flow, a video, 2 signup forms (above the fold and bottom of the page) that were optimized, visual cues directing attention, some scarcity elements (limited availability), optimized form, and so on.
But I didn't know if it's actually gonna work because all I had done to this point was READ about landing pages.
And then - it worked. It worked so well. It converted like a mofo. It was a beautiful feeling.
A lot of marketing advice from trusted sources is like a recipe. If you mix in all the ingredients and cook it as they tell you, it can work great.
