How to Establish an Agency Content Strategy When Outbound Stops Working
Agencies looking to grow have traditionally relied on fostering strategic relationships to land deals and increase sales. Cold email and referrals have often been quite effective. But through my work with dozens of agencies, it’s clear outbound alone is no longer enough. The most successful agencies are beginning to invest …
Experiment, Systematize, Differentiate: The Content Strategy Maturity Model
We often criticize the use of ultimate guides and listicle content, and with good reason. Many companies operate in content-saturated industries where these “classic” content marketing tactics are tired and ineffective. Many companies—but not all. There are still many industries where those old-school tactics are effective, simply because they’ve not …

Marketing is about understanding people.
It’s that simple.
And that hard.
Let me get this straight.
Instagram will gate keep sliding up on stories for everyone except verified and 10k+ follower accounts BUT will let tons of 0 follower/spam/bot accounts flood DMs with nonsense.
This is the opposite of user friendly.
How Aldi is driving serious online rankings, drove 200,000 people by 8am this morning, got a product ranking no.1 in DAYS all through product PR and why (when done right) can be one of your biggest SEO, link and traffic drivers... (a thread)
(And why SEO can be short term too)
My secret to keep energized 🔋 I just come here from time to time to recharge 😉🤗
Most SaaS companies don’t have their organic traffic house in order for three reasons:
1) They didn’t believe in search and the site is not optimized in the slightest
2) They think SEO is boring vs “growth hacking”
3) Overwhelmed all the noise & snake oil sold over the years
Pretty crazy what Tim Ferris parlayed his success from 4 hour work week into.
I now barely think of him as an author
Parenting. Taking time to rest. Reading. Taking naps. Going for walks.
These are all great side projects. We don’t need to work on something 7 days a week.
What side projects are you working on this weekend?
The best time to start with SEO was 10 years ago.
The second best time to start was a year ago.
The third best time was January first.
Today is also the best time.

And it ain't me.
These guests are coming to me with ENERGY.
What's a better word for stoked?
Invest in leverage.
If you can spend 8 hours doing work that will enable 5 people on your team to do 100 hours worth of work, that's leverage.
If you spend 2 hours coaching your team to generate 5x better outcomes, that's leverage.
"Doing it yourself" is not leverage.

To friends who keep complaining about their big brand jobs, agonizing over leaving because the current logo seems too great: leave. Get the hell out. Now. You don’t work to make end’s meet. You can choose to make a change.
You’re going to die someday. Don’t waste another second.
There are a bunch of ways to be helpful to your team and network as a founder and leader. Not all of them feel right.
I'm constantly trying to remind myself that I should trust my intuition about how *I* do things.
My way is my magic. I don't want to look like the rest.

Trump made widespread use of prechecked boxes to automatically enroll donors into repeating donations — unless they opted out.
In Sept., as Trump faced a cash crunch, those recurring donations began withdrawing *every week*.
