NichePursuits.com - Ranking "shortcut"?

What is the fastest way to get a niche site ranking?

There are very few shortcuts that can be made in online marketing, but those which do exist deserve a little bit of attention and consideration.

One way to potentially get a site going a bit faster is to use an aged domain that has a good backlink profile, a clean history, and is perhaps even getting some traffic already.

There are many ways to use an aged domain, including building out a site on it with similar URLs and content that it had before it expired, or simply redirecting the entire domain to another site.

There are always risks involved, of course, and so a move like this shouldn’t be done lightly, but always needs to be carefully evaluated.

You really do want to ensure things like:

  • The domain hasn’t been used for anything dodgy (check the Wayback Machine)
  • There are no super spammy links pointing to it
  • It hasn’t been a dead site for too long

Over the past couple of years, I’ve heard countless stories of people who have been successful at using aged domains to get a site ranking quicker than would otherwise be expected.

Some of these aged domains have not only caused a site to grow faster, but they’ve helped the site’s traffic metrics to simply explode!

I often have people asking ‘where can I buy aged domains?’ And ever since finding out about ODYS Global and hearing how well people have done with their domains, I’ve been referring people there.

We did a full review earlier in the year on ODYS Global which you can check out here.

ODYS is a popular domain reseller who vet and list aged domains for sale. You still need to do your due diligence, but the domains they have for sale are definitely better than many you can find elsewhere.

When you gain access to their platform you will see a range of metrics that will help you to determine if a domain is good for you.

That includes:

  • Domain age
  • Majestic score
  • DR and DA
  • Referring domain data
  • Whether or not it’s indexed

Each domain also has a short report on why it might be good for the right person.

You can find out a lot more about the service in our review here - you will also see a YouTube embed where I go into ODYS myself and take a look around.

ODYS Global Limited Time Offer

ODYS Global is also offering a special deal that's ending tomorrow.

Apply for access to the platform here and if accepted (after answering a couple of questions) you will be eligible for 30% OFF all domains for their summer sale!

Domain prices range widely depending on their strength. 30% OFF is a good deal though whether you’re looking to pick up a cheaper expired domain or something a bit more premium.

There’s no obligation to buy a domain, so if you’re interested in having a look around, sign up here today.

How Often Should I Post On My Blog?

A few weeks ago we asked this question in the Niche Pursuits Facebook Group:

“How often should you ideally post on your blog? Does it depend on the niche and/or the stage your site is at?

Niche Pursuit’s goal is to publish between 3 new posts per week and Own The Yard is gearing up to publish 20 articles per month.

What is the publishing rate on your niche sites?”

We received about 16 great answers and compiled them into a blog post that I’ve just published here.

There are a number of different philosophies on blog posting frequency, including:

  • drip feeding content
  • posting an insane amount of content (Jon Dykstra method)
  • or posting at a more moderate or low frequency

What are you a fan of, or how often would you like to publish in an ideal world?

Read the post here where you’ll also find a link to the original FB post so that you can also share your thoughts.

Thanks again,

Spencer
