A Message from our CEO and Founder Jason Lemkin

Dear SaaStr Community, 

As 2021 winds down, we wanted to give a BIG Thank You to everyone in the SaaStr community.

2021 was a huge year for us, a big rebound after SaaStr Annual 2020 was the first major tech event that Covid shut down in March ‘20.  It took a while to dig out of that hole, but we came out much stronger.

A few stats:

• In 2021, we had 5 major digital events (SaaStr University, SaaStr Build, SaaStr Money, Annual Digital Day, and SaaStr Scale) with over 100,000 attendees.
• SaaStr Annual 2021 was the first and only major tech event to be back in-person IRL in the Bay Area, and we moved to an outdoor (and 100% vaccinated and tested) format for our 5,000 attendees.  We’re sticking with this outdoor festival-style format for 10,000+ at the SaaStr Annual 2022 and beyond!  Thank you to everyone that was able to come!  
• The SaaStr podcast grew 170% in streams and 149% in listeners.  We plan to do even more here in 2022.
• We had over 200 unique speakers at our events and on our podcast in 2021, including the CEOs of GitLab, Twilio, HubSpot, Chime, Box, Okta, Databricks, Tripactions, Bill.com, Monday, Airtable, GitLab, Webflow, Vimeo, Brex, PagerDuty, Upwork, Expensify and so much more!
• The majority of our speakers were again women (for 4th year in a row) and 66% were from less represented backgrounds.
• We more than doubled the weekly content on SaaStr.com, dramatically expanding the learnings from the founders and execs of hundreds of unicorns and other SaaS and Cloud leaders. 
• A reboot of our newsletters, with over 10,000,000 sent (more to come here)
• Our free online courses at SaaStr University grew to almost 12,000 members sharing their learnings and reading and watching structured SaaStr content on how to scale.  Sign up for FREE here!

A great year during a crazy year, when Cloud and SaaS exploded even further, with hundreds of unicorns and IPO after IPO.

What does 2022 hold?  A few goals and thoughts:

• More mentorship.  We want to do a lot more here, both at our events and beyond.
• More founder-VC connections.  More to come here in Q2 and beyond.
• An even bigger, funner Annual 2022 in September.  We’re looking forward to an even bigger, more fun Annual 2022 in September, with the whole world getting back together outdoors in California sunshine to share learnings.
• SaaStr Europa is back, this time in London, in June 2022.  More to come.
