Digitally Approved - 🔥 Best practices for your FB page
What's Really Working in Social Media Marketing g'day. This is the Part 1 of 3 of our Facebook marketing series... With over 2 billion monthly active users, Facebook remains an extremely profitable medium for businesses worldwide. It's still one of the most effective channels to reach potential customers — especially if you follow some best practices. Today, we're going to look at 10 things you should be doing with your Facebook business page: 1. Claim your custom usernameBy default, Facebook will give your page a URL with a bunch of numbers at the end. That makes it difficult for people to recognize and access your page via Search or Messenger. By creating a custom username (e.g. @mybusinesspage), people can easily go to your page or even message you by simply typing your username. 👉 Learn how to set your username. 2. Design an engaging cover photoHaving a great cover image is an essential part of branding. Use good quality photos that are relevant to your business, as well as the types of posts you share on the page. Also, make sure your design looks good on both desktop and mobile — as they have different visible dimensions. 👉 See more info on cover photo dimensions. 3. Write a better “about” sectionWhen people land on your Facebook page, they want to know what your business does. That means your About page is usually the first place they look. Just like all brand messaging, it must be crystal clear and state the customer benefits. Don't try to be clever at the expense of clarity — you'll only confuse people. And don't lead with how old your company is or how amazing your team is — nobody cares... they only care about what you can do for them. 4. Set up a “call-to-action” buttonThe “call-to-action” (CTA) button is prominently placed at the top of your Facebook page for all to see. It lets your page visitors know exactly what you want them to do. You can customize this CTA button so that users can quickly message you, visit your website, or buy from your shop. 5. Post attractive photos and videosAttractive photos are a great way to present the look and feel of your brand. Photo posts without links also keeps your followers on Facebook (which Facebook loves). Of course, video content gets the most eyeballs and engagement. And it can be repurposed in various ways for multiple platforms. When sharing videos, it's best to upload directly to Facebook, instead of pasting YouTube links. This will also keep people on the platform. And if you're up for it, go Live more often. Meta says, “People spend more than 3x more time watching a Facebook Live video on average compared to a video that’s no longer live.” This is because Facebook Live videos are more interesting in the moment than after the fact. 6. Pin your important postsPinning a post allows you to highlight something from your page. A pinned post will stay at the top spot of your page for as long as you want, which is an excellent way to catch people’s attention. You can pin important news or content so that your page followers can readily see them. It is also a good way to share time-limited offers like giveaways and discounted sales. 7. Schedule your posts in advanceScheduling your posts allows you to publish even when you aren’t active on Facebook. You can post when your audience is more likely to be online, and while you’re away on a vacation or a business trip. What's more, you can get a bunch of content scheduled all at once and have them spread out over time, instead of just posting them individually. You don't need any fancy tools either — Facebook Creator Studio is your best friend. 8. Keep your frequency consistentOrganic social media marketing means staying consistent with your posting frequency. Make it a habit to update your page regularly. On Facebook, once or twice a week is good for most businesses. Don't post more than once a day. If you want to engage more often, you can always do more Stories. 9. Create Facebook StoriesIs video part of your marketing strategy? Are you wondering how Facebook’s short-form video format could help your business? Facebook Stories brings a new video format to Facebook that closely resembles Instagram Stories. Respond to comments and messages ASAP!More and more, people are using social media for customer service, since it's generally faster than email communication.
