Between Facebook and Instagram, Reels has a potential advertising audience of nearly 1.5 billion people. Yet the placements are relatively underutilized by marketers. For example, in 2022, Reels made up just 3% of Facebook ad impressions.

As of June 2023, Ads Manager has more options than ever to edit and optimize this ad type. Highlights include a new Commercial Music feature, new IG placements, and support for Reels ads in more campaign types.
