Many of my fellow HubSpotters are in Boston this week for INBOUND, where they will be watching Deadpool himself do the “Bye Bye Bye” dance talk about how he decides where to invest his time and energy.

As for me, I’ll be watching Ryan Reynolds and fellow INBOUND speaker Serena Williams (!!) on the YouTube channel, and hoping somebody brings me back some Wrexham kit or Aviation gin.

This week, we’re bringing you a special marketing edition of The AI Edge, in which our colleague Martina Bretous talks to professionals across industries about how they’re using AI at work 

Six months ago, HubSpotter Jamie Juviler was pretty new to conversion optimization (CRO).

He got up to speed pretty quickly with the help of AI, but it still didn’t happen overnight. When at first he got basic advice — “add more CTAs” — he realized he needed to learn how to craft better prompts.

“I think AI is a big win for marketers,” Juviler says. “If you're a marketer and there’s an area you want to improve on, something you want to pursue that you don't have a lot of experience in, the barrier to entry is made a lot lower with AI.”

Another surprising way Juviler uses AI: to make himself a better people manager.

Where do Natives go when they need a $10 million loan? 

Justin Quis Quis (San Pasqual Band of Mission Indians) heads up Sacred Bev, a beverage company in California. Quis Quis says that the initial marketing efforts for his company’s product — a set of functional beverages using Indigenous ingredients — were a costly failure.

Quis Quis moved to a local-first marketing strategy — and he’s just ordered his fourth run of 20K cans of product.

Chad Johnson (Cherokee), founder and president of farm logistics company The Akana Group, points to a shortage of programs at nationwide financial institutions that cater to the needs of Indigenous entrepreneurs. “There’s this missing gap between, ‘I’m a start-up,’ and ‘I need a $10 million line of credit,” Johnson says. “Where do Natives go when they need a $10 million loan?”
