The Four Forces of Bad Content
Ryan LawSep 22

Most blog posts suffer from the same problem: they feel like content marketing. The reader is never allowed to forget that what they’re reading is, first and foremost, a marketing asset. This is sometimes caused by an obvious misstep, like a ham-fisted product reference or an out-of-place call-to-action. But most …

I just ran my first ad campaign ever. I'm feel proud and excited for the future.

I did it on snap chat. I spent 50$, i got 128 swipe ups. Nothing much I know but it feels great.

I did this all on my own. I made the ad in photoshop. Wrote the copy myself, and took the leap.

Cheers to taking the first step.

Name a famous marketing campaign that was was successful but didnt make any sense.

What's one thing you wished you knew before starting a career in marketing?

For me, it was the fact that niching down helps you get paying customers much faster than trying to become a generalist, who wants to master all skills.

Weird Copywriting Tip:

Use broken sentences in your copy.

Start sentences with words like "and” or "but"

It's easier to read.

And easier to understand.

But more importantly:

It makes them keep reading.

This tweet is an example ^^^

When I first started in marketing I thought that content creation needed to be the priority.

Write more. Create more. Publish more.

Now I realize that the true power is in distribution. Create one amazing asset and spread it one hundred different ways.

That’s how to win.

People buy from brands that they:

1. know
2. like
3. trust

Being known is just the first step. Don’t forget to invest in building your likability and trust too.

Keyword cannibalization means that you shouldn’t have more than one page targeting the same term.

But there’s an exception.

It’s fine to create multiple pages targeting the same keyword when they have different search intent.
