Gartner Forecasts Software Spending Increases Another $110 Billion; Plus Weekly SaaS News and Updates

Amplitude is a quiet Cloud leader that you might not have heard of — unless you are building software. There, Amplitude has become part of the core product stack for many SaaS and software leaders for product analytics. They were founded in 2011 and IPO’d ten years later in 2021 at $150,000,000 in ARR, growing 57%, and have rocketed to a $7B+ valuation.

What makes for a good pricing page? It’s a challenging question because most of us don’t have the volume to really do A/B tests (although try, of course). We have to at least start by copying best practices from the leaders. A few thoughts at least — mainly about what to copy from the big leaders, and what to maybe not copy from them.

SaaS companies growing > 30% year-over-year post IPO (what it takes to remain a growth company) are worth a stunning 25x next year’s revenues. The ones with pretty good growth are worth 15x next year’s revenues. And the ones that are < 15% growth are worth 6x next year’s revenue on average (and in many cases, less).
